In an international conference of over 5,000 college and university students from across the world, the Riverside City College Model United Nations team brought home one of the highest awards.
RCC won the Outstanding Delegation award in the National Model United Nations New York for the third year in a row March 27-31.
The team which consisted of 14 students was the largest amount of students ever taken to a conference, according to a letter from Blake Plante, research director of RCC MUN.
“We intend to continue to send large groups,” Plante stated. “But in order to qualify our students must be dedicated.”
Plante also stated that while they are looking for students with strong academic skills they have a thorough training program that can help enrich students’ abilities.
“The benefits (MUN) has had on our delegate’s lives and their careers can not possibly be communicated on paper alone,” he stated.
