Roundup: RCC baseball advances in CCCAA playoffs

The Riverside City College baseball team will advance to play Saddleback on the road in a CCCAA Southern California Regionals best-of-three series after defeating Santa Barbara College in a wild card game, 3-2, May 3.

The Tigers scored three unearned runs against the Vaqueros in the top of the eighth inning. A wild pitch allowed Brody Weiss to score the game-winning run.

Angel Delgado earned the victory on the mound for the Tigers after allowing three hits and a run in seven innings pitched against the Vaqueros.

The first game against Saddleback will be played May 6 with the second being held May 7. If a third game is needed it will also be played May 7.

Beach Volleyball

The freshman duo of Marissa Vialpando and Sabrina Gonzaga will represent Riverside City College as one of 16 teams to compete in the CCCAA sand volleyball championships. The team will compete May 6.
