On this day 25 years ago the Riverside City College baseball team won their last three games of the Orange Empire Conference ending the team’s four game losing streak.
With a record of 14-6 and 3-3 in conference at the time, the Tigers’ were off to one of their best starts since 1978 when the team finished second in the Orange Empire Conference.
The Tigers’ posted a 10-4 win over Golden West College on March 17 with Jim Patterson recording his second win during the season, by allowing two runs on seven hits.
RCC’s offense supported Patterson’s start with freshman infielder Mike Alto with four runs batted in, while third baseman Randy Graves added a 2-run home run.
During the teams 1991 season the top hitters were infielders Randy Beasley .417; Randy Graves .392 and outfielder Randy Curtis at .375.
