The Associated Students of Riverside City College senate appointed Leonardo Santiago as the interim ASRCC president during the Nov. 9 senate meeting.
The ASRCC executive branch had originally nominated Public Relations Director Sarah Amro for the interim ASRCC president position at an executive cabinet regular meeting Nov. 7.
However, the senate declined the recommendation and instead approved Santiago.
Santiago, who had originally began the semester as a senator, was appointed interim vice president of ASRCC after Lynn Smith, the elected vice president, stepped down from her position Oct. 13.
About a month later, ASRCC President Nigel Item stepped down from his position Nov. 1, creating another vacant position.
