RCC student Argie Hill has organized a viewing of the Democratic Presidential Candidate debate on Oct. 13 from 6-9 p.m. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.
It will take place in the Digital Library auditorium. The Riverside Student Coalition and Friends of Bernie Club, a developing RCC club, are also sponsoring the event.
“I went to an Inland Empire for Bernie Sanders meeting and was asked to create my own debate watch party,” Hill said. “I thought it was best to include students in this, so I thought, ‘why not do it at RCC?'”
Having served as served as the head delegate for RCC’s a Model UN, Hill says that he understands legislation, yet is interested in encouraging activism amongst his peers.
Hill says the goal of this event is to help students become aware of different organizations on campus and get involved in making a difference in their community.
For those interested Riverside Student Coalition meetings are held in Mondays in Quad 215 from 12:50-1:50 p.m.
