Tierra Fuqua and Tori Mitchell were named the 2014-15 Riverside City College women’s basketball co-Most Valuable Players during the team’s annual banquet, according to the RCC athletic site.
Riverside City College finished third in the Orange Empire Conference with a record of 6-6. The team finished 18-12 overall.
Sophomore Tamara Herring was named as the Most Inspirational Player.
Herring and Ashley Davis received a Team Tiger award, which was awarded to her by the coaching staff.
Freshman Jordan Lofton was named the “Best Defensive” and “Sixth Man” for her efforts this season while Jessica Reed, who is also a freshman, received the “Most Improved” award.
Records Setters:
Tori Mitchell set single-season Riverside City College record for defensive rebounds with 255 during the season and blocked shots with 51.
Tamara Herring set a new Riverside City College record for most three-point shots made in a game with nine against Victor Valley.
Ashley Davis concludes her Riverside City College basketball career tying seventh for most rebounds in a single game. She had 23 rebounds in the game, with 19 being on the defensive end of the court.
