If you have not been watching the NBA playoffs then you have already missed out on some amazing stuff.
Not to worry though, the playoffs do not end for another month.
That is plenty of time for you to sit and watch.
Not really a basketball fan? Here are 12 reasons why you should be watching the NBA playoffs.
12. No other sport has athletes like the NBA.
This sport combines the mental aspect of baseball with the physicality of football and the footwork of soccer.
No other sport can lay claim to that.
11. Historic moments
Any basketball fan can tell you where they were when something amazing happened.
Just in these playoffs alone, there have been multiple games decided by last-second shots.
10. Mark Cuban
Cuban is the emotional owner of the Dallas Mavericks.
He once told his team that he would fire them all after a loss.
He had a memorable meltdown earlier this month when a missed call in the last seconds of the game cost Dallas the chance at a win.
9. Can Boston repeat?
They have lost their All-Star forward Kevin Garnett for an indefinite amount of time and they needed to play seven grueling games to beat the Chicago Bulls.
Do they have enough left in the tank to beat juggernauts like Cleveland or Los Angeles?
8. Will the Lakers avenge last year’s humiliating loss?
Last year the L.A. Lakers lost the championship in six games to the Boston Celtics.
This year, the Lakers are supposed to be better than ever.
Will they be able to pull it off?
7. The rebirth of the Denver Nuggets.
Most commonly referred to as “the Thuggets” in the past, the addition of 2004 Finals MVP Chauncey Billups has righted this wayward ship.
Billups, who grew up in Denver and played at the University of Colorado, has led the Nuggets out of the first round for the first time since 1994.
Can he lead them to the championship?
6. Suprising new talent
From Rookie of the year Derrick Rose to rookie Lakers guard Shannon Brown, the playoffs provide an opportunity for new stars to emerge under the bright lights of the postseason.
5. Dwight Howard
The Orlando Magic center is a big reason for their success.
Howard is a 23-year-old who lives life like a 5-year-old.
He is one of the few players who plays the game because it is fun.
Howard is a must-watch talent.
4. Paul Pierce
Pierce is the 2008 Finals MVP and self-proclaimed “best player in the world.”
Can Pierce live up to his moniker and deliver with everybody coming after him?
3: Kevin Garnett
Garnett is the energetic leader of the Boston Celtics.
Garnett was thought to have been injured and unable to play for the rest of the season.
He has put off surgery to hopefully make a comeback in these playoffs should the Celtics continue to advance.
Will Garnett make a comeback for another title?
2: History
If the Lakers win, it will be their 15th title in 30 Finals appearances.
If Cleveland wins it will be LeBron’s first and may start the beginning of a dynasty.
If the Celtics win it will be an unprecedented 18th title.
1. The Duel
Lebron James vs. Kobe Bryant has the potential to be the biggest Finals match-up since Larry Bird and Magic Johnson laced up their Converse back in the 80s.
Kobe is an aging superstar who needs to win another title to lose the stigma that he can’t win without Shaquille O’Neal.
LeBron is the newcomer who is looking to cement his MVP status with an NBA title.
Who will come out on top?
