Supporters of the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) community at Riverside City College are invited to attend the upcoming ALLY training.

The ALLY training is intended to educate all participants about the LGBT community and how they can create a safe zone for all LGBT employees and students at RCC.

Those partaking must complete the 4 hour training in order to be offered an opportunity to sign a contract to become an RCC ALLY. Members will be given a placard to place in their office signifying their commitment to providing a safe zone.

Flex credit is available to all members of faculty who join the training.

Students are also encouraged to attend to voice their concerns and help enact change in regard to the issues.

The session will take place Friday, Oct. 9 from 12 to 4 p.m. in the Digital Library Auditorium 121. RSVP to Debbie Whitaker, ALLY coordinator and associate dean of academic support via email debbie.whitaker@rcc.edu or by telephone at 951-222-8434.
