Denzel Foster scored two touchdowns in the final seven minutes to give the No. 2 ranked Riverside City College Tigers the victory over the No. 1 ranked Mt. San Antonio Mounties in Central League play Oct. 25.

Foster rushed for 66 yards on 15 carries while contributing to the air attack, collecting 26 yards receiving on three catches.

Until Foster’s 19-yard touchdown run with 1:52 left in the game, the Tigers never held a lead in the game.

The Tigers defense managed to shutout the Mounties in the fourth quarter. While Mounties’ quarterback Justin Alo rushed for one touchdown and threw for 300 yards and two touchdowns against the Tigers, he also had four interceptions.

Trayvon Watson intercepted one of Alo’s passes which he returned for 57 yards. Treason Broughton was responsible for intercepting the other three passes, including one that was returned for a touchdown with 6:46 left in the second quarter to tie the game at 10-10.

Kicker Jimmy Camacho scored 10 of the Tigers’ 24 points, after making all three field goal attempts and an extra point.

The Tigers have defeated the Mounties for the second consecutive time, including the 33-30 victory on Nov. 16 last season.

RCC moves to 6-1 overall this season and 4-0 in league play.

The Tigers will travel to play the No. 3 ranked Long Beach City College Vikings, who will be coming off a BYE week, on Nov. 1. The Vikings were ranked No. 1 in the CCCAA polls before Chaffey College handed the team its first loss of the season Oct. 18.

Mt. San Antonio moves to 6-2 overall and 2-2 in league play. The Mounties will play against LA Harbor Nov. 1.
