Men’s tennis comes to an end

The RCC Men’s tennis season has come to a satisfying end. The RCC tennis players have accomplished so much this year as far as setting a school-record of an 18-0 winning streak, advanced four of the RCC Tigers to the Southern California Regional, earning the No.5 seed as a team in the Southern California Regional, and winning the co-champions of the Orange Empire Conference.

The Tigers were able to achieve much success this year because they started out every match with more determination than ever. They knew what they had to do to advance, and that was giving it their all, using all the skills they developed in practice, and maintaining patience for every opportunity to win a point.

The RCC tigers earned themselves an 11-1 record in Conference and a season overall record of 18-2.

Women’s tennis accomplishes more than just their season

RCC’S Women’s tennis team has closed their season with many achievements as well as great memories.

The Tigers accomplished many of their goals that they had set before the season. They ranked No. 3 in the State, defeated Saddleback with a 5-4 victory in an Orange Empire Conference Match, came close to defeating the No.1 team in the State, and advanced to the Southern California Team semi-finals.

The Tigers were able to advance to the semi-finals by defeating Ventura in the first round 6-3.

On May 2, RCC went on to compete against Grossmont, the No.2 team in the State to determine who will advance to the regional final.

RCC’s baseball on a great run

Men’s baseball is on their way, having six of their players named to the 2006 All-Orange Empire Conference Team. The Tigers were able to win second place in the Orange Empire Conference by defeating Santa Ana with a 9-2 victory on May 5.

The Tigers were selected from the conference for the southern regional.

Tommy Hanson, pitcher for the RCC Tigers, earned the Pitcher of the Year Award for the 2006 season.

This award was greatly earned by Hanson, who struck out 76 batters in approximately 64 innings.

This was a great accomplishment by Hanson who will hopefully lead his team the rest of the way to finish off their season.

The Tigers season comes to an end in just a few more games and they are currently at an overall record of 33-11 and a conference record of 16-8.
