Riverside City College plans to offer Journalism 2 – Intermediate Reporting/Newswriting this summer.
The class will emphasize writing and reporting for multiple platforms, including online. Students will learn multimedia skills, such as interviewing for video, writing for social media and presenting the news online with Storify and Twitter.
Students will also learn how to cover public affairs beats such as city councils, schools boards and other government agencies.
The three-unit class is scheduled to meet in Digital Library Room 108 from June 22 through July 30, from 10 a.m. to 12:05 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays.
To qualify for enrollment in Journalism 2, students must first complete Journalism 1. Both courses are included in the Journalism program’s transfer degree.
