The Riverside City College football program welcomed one of its largest mid-year signing classes, on Dec.16, with 10 players walking into the hall of fame room in the Wheelock gym to announce where they had signed their national letters of intent.
Quarterback Kevin Olsen and the No. 1 state ranked Riverside City College football team snapped its three-game losing streak to No. 12 Grossmont, 31-29, on Sept. 19, however the Tigers’ toughest battle of the night was against itself.
The Griffins’ defense had its way with Olsen, which had one sack and two interceptions, one of which resulted in a 41-yard touchdown return for the Griffins’ Nick Galatis to bring the game within two.
The No. 1 state ranked Tigers of Riverside City College won their second game of the season against Saddleback in a thrilling game, 38-18.
The Tigers’ Tyreke Lewis had a 99-yard kickoff return touchdown, which lead the team to an early 7-0 start.
The Riverside City College football season is here and the team has already begun preparations for its season opener against Bakersfield.
The Tigers’ held its first scrimmage of the season in the Arthur N. Wheelock Stadium Aug. 22 showing glimpses of trouble ahead.
