Riverside 49, Chaffey 21: Tigers’ quarterback Nicholas King had 311 passing yards and three touchdowns against the Panthers. King also had 72 rushing yards. Receiver Isaac Whitney had 120 receiving yards for the Tigers while running back Denzel Foster rushed for 108 yards and a touchdown. Panthers quarterback Levi Plante had 150 yards passing and one interception against the Tigers. Plante managed to score two touchdowns rushing in the loss. With the victory, RCC has clinched the Central League title and a playoff berth. Riverside City College (8-1, 5-0) will conclude the regular season against Citrus College on Nov. 15.
Men’s Cross Country
Southern California Championship: The Tigers qualified for State Championship Meet after finishing eighth in the Southern California Regional event Nov. 7. Sophomore Doug Negrete finished in 36th overall with a time of 21 minutes and 2.96 seconds leading the Tigers. Riverside will compete in the state championship meet held at Woodward Park in Fresno on Nov. 22 at 10 a.m.
Men’s Water Polo
Fullerton 14, Riverside 6: Hornets defeated the Tigers in the third place game at the Orange Empire Conference Championship event.
Women’s Basketball
El Camino 62, Riverside 50: Sophomore Tamara Herring scored 14 points for the RCC Tigers in loss to the Warriors in the semifinals of the inaugural “Earning Our Stripes” Tournament held in the Wheelock Gym. Center Tori Mitchell contributed with 12 points and eight rebounds. RCC (1-1) will play against Barstow in the third place game Nov. 9.
Women’s Water Polo
Fullerton 10, Riverside 9: Nikki Bell lead the Tigers with four goals in the loss to the Hornets in the finals of the Orange Empire Conference Championship event. The Tigers allowed two goals apiece from five individual Hornets.
