The dawn of fall brings about a lot of changes. The days get shorter, the leaves begin to change, kids go back to school and new television programming hits the airwaves. Because of last year’s writers strike the number of new shows premiering is smaller than usual.

The year was 1935, and swing jazz was making its debut all across the nation. Swing music acted as an emotional release for many as the United States was entering World War II. Flash forward 73 years, and swing music is no longer one of the dominant forms of popular American music.
There are not a lot of customer pleasing restaurants located in gas stations, but Lalo’s Tacos exceeds customers’ expectations. The small restaurant is located inside the 76 gas station that is next to the 14th Street freeway exit. Lalo’s Tacos, which is owned by Danny and Myra Lizaola, was opened by Eduardo Garcia in 2000.
The stage is set and the cast is ready as Performance Riverside embarks upon its 25th season. Since its inception in 1983, Performance Riverside has delivered professional theatre performances to over a million viewers. This year will be no exception to the quality and diversity of shows Riverside has grown to know and love.
The Riverside City College football team failed to find a rhythm against Glendale Community College in a non-conference match-up on Sept. 20. The Tiger’s defense struggled early on to effectively control Glendale’s offense in a 20-7 loss. Glendale came out running and continued to do so the entire game.
