ASRCC election fraud causes re-vote

In an ASRCC presidential election wrought with controversy, Dany Wilson and Eddie Sanchez defeated Lupita Torres and Pedro Salcedo in a race that came to special election re-vote. The original election, held on April 27, 28 and 29, elected 17 new senators but was unable to produce a new student president and vice president because of several grievances filed to the student Supreme Court against some of the candidates involved.

Is this a college… or a boxing ring?

Fighting and bickering have a safe and secure home at RCC as the semester comes to an end. Whether it’s the administration fighting will the faculty or student government members arguing amongst themselves, it’s always something. What’s incredibly disturbing and to be quite frank, infuriating, is that these people could accomplish so much more if they would stop arguing and put their collective noses to the proverbial grindstone.

A tale of two series finales

We have already had to say goodbye to two sitcoms this year: “Friends” and “Fraiser,” and to make things harder, two popular dramas have closed up shop for good. First up, “The Practice” which has run on ABC for seven seasons, recently aired its series finale.

Dance gives reasons to celebrate

Riverside Community College once again renewed its marriage with performing arts with this year’s Celebrate Dance performance. There were some things that were a little old, a lot of things that were new, one thing that was a bit borrowed and well, some of the costumes were blue.

The original still leaves a mark

It has been referenced to and spoofed countless times since 1974. The mere mention of its title conjures up images of spider walking and split pea soup. Clearly “The Exorcist” has left a mark on everyone. Even someone who has never seen the movie understands the basics of this pop culture icon.

RCC’s Chamber Singers release new album

All great people start from humble beginnings and if you are looking to have the beginnings of the next possible American Idol, it would be a good idea to pick up Riverside Community College’s Chamber Singers Spring 2004 new compact disc. Be forewarned though, this CD doesn’t include pop tunes.
