The Riverside Fire Department and ABC7 are teaming up for a toy drive running through Dec. 24. To make Christmas special for a child or teenager in Riverside, donate at the Cesar Chavez Community Center at 2060 University Ave., the Stratton Community Center at 2008 Martin Luther King Blvd., or at any other one of the 14 fire stations available for drop-offs in the city. You will have to call your local center to register to receive donations.
Donations are accepted from 9 a.m. to noon on Mondays and Thursdays, 4-6 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and 1-4 p.m. on Fridays. For more information, contact Jennifer McDowell at 951-602-0812 or JMcdowell@riversideca.gov or Barbara Hunter at 951-826-5737.
The Associated Students of Riverside City College are helping provide toys to children who are registered with the Salvation Army. To donate to a child, fill out this spreadsheet as a secret Santa. Once you have the gift you’ll fill out and print the ornament label and attach it to the outside of the gift and drop it off at 3695 1st St. in Riverside.
