The annual Friends of Riverside Community College District Forensics Benefit Art Auction was held March 3 at the Eagle Glen Golf Club in Corona.

The event featured art from Riverside and Corona area residents.

The auction included oil and watercolor paintings, and penand-ink pieces. There were also sculptures, jewelry, and handblown glass pieces, as well as painted fabrics and scarves available for purchase.

Also present was local area artist Greg Adamson. Known for his fast-paced performance art, Adamson created two large paintings to music, one of Marilyn Monroe and the other of John Lennon. Both pieces were sold as a part of the auction.

The Friends of Forensics was established by the late RCC Instructor Emerita Dina Stallings to help speech, drama, and debate students from elementary to college level.

Operated in association with the RCCD Foundation, the Friends of Forensics issued eight scholarships to forensics students.

The Friends of Forensics fund is also contributing $5000 to RCC’s Model United Nations.

The annual auction helps the Friends of Forensics put on speech and debate tournaments, and helps to cover the needs of RCC’s speech program.

Last year, the auction raised over $8,000.
