The Riverside City College  women’s basketball team had its season come to an end on Feb. 27 against Long Beach City College, 62-51, in a semifinal state playoff game at Hall of Champions Gym in Long Beach.

The Tigers were unable to hold off LBCC after cutting a double digit lead down to six by halftime.

Despite the Tigers’ horrendous shooting (26.7%), they managed to keep the game relatively close until LBCC pulled away in the fourth quarter, outscoring RCC 15-13 in the final period.

The Tigers finished the season 17-12, ranked 13th overall in state.

The team leader in scoring this season was sophomore Jordan Lofton, averaging 13.7 points per game.

The team leader in rebounds was freshman Paradise Hanchett with 12.8, which also tops the Orange Empire Conference in rebounding.
