Planetarium to hold Spring Shows

The Robert T. Dixon Planetarium is holding its Annual Spring Shows throughout the Spring Semester at Riverside City College which started Jan 29 and will continue till Jun 3.

The Moon and Eclipses, 7:00 PM – 8:00 p.m. – Feb 26

See the unique motions of the Sun, Moon and Earth, which produce eclipses. 

 

Comets, 7:00 PM – 8:00 p.m. – Mar 11

Myths and facts about these mysterious space travelers. Discover how they travel through our solar system.

 

The Spring Sky, 7:00 PM – 8:00 p.m. – Mar 25

Come and see the fascinating constellations and subtle gems that the Spring sky brings each year.

 

Finding Your Way in the Sky, 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. – Apr 8

An introduction to the patterns and history of the constellations and learn to navigate your way through the night sky.

 

Galaxies, 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. – May 6

Measuring distances to stars and galaxies, the size of the Universe, and the Earth’s relationship to the Universe.

 

The Sun’s Family, 7:00 – 8:00 – May 27

Relative size, moons, rings, and motions of the planets. See up close photographs taken by the Voyager spacecraft.

 

The Summer Sky, 7:00 – 8:00 – Jun 3

Come and see the fascinating constellations and subtle gems that the Summer sky brings each year.

 

  • Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and prices are Adult $5, Student $4, and Children under 12 – $2.50.
