Riverside City College football falls to Fullerton

After five weeks as the No. 1 ranked football team in the state, the run will likely come to an end for Riverside City College (4-1, 1-0) after suffering its first loss of the season against Fullerton College, 52-21.

After scoring 14 points in the first quarter against the Hornets (3-3, 1-2), the Tigers were held to seven points in the final three quarters of play. Quarterback Kevin Olsen completed 8 of his 19 passing attempts for 102 yards with one touchdown and two intercepts against the Hornets.

Phillip Butler led the Hornets with 218 rushing yards for two touchdowns on 30 carries while Jake Brito contributed with 77 rushing yards and a touchdown against the Tigers. Brito also caught two passes for 17 total yards and two touchdowns. 

The Tigers will look to bounce back from the loss on Oct. 17 when the Tigers host LA Harbor.
