James Wooldridge is expected to be named the interim athletic director at Riverside City College, according to the June 16 agenda for the Riverside Community College Board of Trustees meeting. His expected term of employment would last from June 17 until December 18.

Wooldridge was the UC Riverside men’s basketball coach from 2007 until 2013 when he took over as the interim athletic director on campus. He would later have the interim tag removed from the A.D. title but the stint only lasted for a year after he resigned from the position in 2014.

The RCC position became available following the departure of Derrick Johnson. Former men’s tennis coach Jim Elton has been serving as acting athletic director.
