Topping Out event held for new Student Services and Administration Building

Riverside City College held a Topping Out Event for students, staff and faculty to sign the last structural beam on June 2 from 12:50 p.m. to 1:50 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 6 pm. and June 3 from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. to 1p.m.

Chancellor Michael Burke, RCC President Wolde-Ab Isaac, Chris Carlson RCCD, chief of Staff and Facilities Development, Trustee Mary Figueroa and Board of Trustees President Virginia Blumenthal attended to sign the beam on June 2.

“This is just wonderful and exciting. There are so many things going on that are so wonderful for our students, our district and our community,” said Blumenthal. “It really makes a statement about our presence in the community along with the services we’re providing for the students.”

The beam was raised and set on June 4 at approximately 10 a.m.

“I’ve never seen a a topping out it’s amazing to see something like this,” said German Ortega a RCC student.

The construction will continue until April 2016. Weekly updates can be found on RCC’s website.
