Bachelor’s programs are set to start rolling out in California Community Colleges as soon as Fall 2015. 12 programs are already approved by the Board of Governors with three more expected to pass in the near future according to a teleconference between student journalists and the CCC Chancellor’s Office.
The bachelor’s programs were created by Senate Bill 850, the baccalaureate degree pilot program that is aiming to help grant an additional one million baccalaureate degrees in California according to the bill text.
The programs and schools were chosen in a manner so that they would not compete with the existing offerings of other nearby state universities.
The programs and schools already approved by the Board of Governors to start offer bachelors degrees are:
