Defensive back Treshon Broughton was the first of four Riverside City College football players to make a verbal commitment to Washington State University in December.

Broughton committed Dec. 5 to play for the Cougars. On the same day as Broughton’s announcement three of his RCC teammates, defensive end Devante Wilson, defensive end Jeremiah Mitchell and linebacker Jonah Moi, took an official visit to WSU. The following day all three of players made verbal commitments to the program.

The decision of the four Tigers defensive players has made things interesting for the recruiting process for RCC wide receiver Isaac Whitney.

Whitney is set to make his decision Dec. 18. While USC, where he took an official visit Dec. 6, and West Virginia University appeared to be the front runners, WSU likely found themselves back in the mix with some familiar faces from RCC committing to the program.

The Cougars also have a commitment from Upland High School quarterback Tyler Hilinski, who is the brother of RCC quarterback Kelly Hilinski.
