As the semester comes to a close, Riverside City College President Jan Muto is completing her first semester here. In an interview she discusses the effect the budget crisis will have on RCC and how her first semester went. S.H.: What has surprised you most in your first semester here? J.
In January, the Americans with Disability Act (ADA) Amendments Act of 2008 came into effect. The Riverside Community College District held public meetings as part of its ADA compliance process. The dean of Disabled Student Programs & Services, Paula McCroskey, was pleased that the district would go above and beyond compliance efforts.
Walking past the A.G. Paul Quadrangle, or “Quad” as it’s referred to, with its renovated exterior, it is easy to take for granted how historic the Quad really is. With the newness of the structure, you can’t imagine what school activities have taken place or how students spent their time there a mere 20 years ago, much less 85 years ago.
