An open invite to prospective legal professionals

The Law Society of Riverside City College is hosting a free-paralegal open house luncheon on April 25 from 12:30-2 p.m. in the Digital Library Auditorium.For those interested in a career in the legal field, there will be information on pursuing an associates degree in paralegal studies.Legal professionals and law school representatives will also be on hand to speak with attendees. Here come the drums

The First Annual RCC Concert Percussion Ensemble Festival will take place on April 26 at 10 a.m. in the Stover music building. The event will feature performances by high school and college percussion groups, as well as, clinics and workshops.Admission is free.

UCR presents the Radio Aztlan Music Festival

UC Riverside is hosting the Thirteenth Annual 88.3 FM KUCR Radio Aztlan Music Festival.This event, hosted by UCR’s chicano studies program, features appearances by El Chicano, Los Fabulocos, Al Reyes, The Grind and Manuel Campos.The festival is on April 18 at the UCR theater. The show starts at 6:30 p.m. and doors open at 6 p.m.Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.For more information, call 951-827-3821.

Return to the ’60s Shakespeare style

The Off Broadway Play Series presents “William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream” at the Landis Performing Arts Center.The show will take place April 23, 24 and 25 at 8 p.m. and April 25 and 26 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 for students and staff and $15 for general admission.The Shakespeare classic is moved to 1960s San Francisco and set against the backdrop of the summer of love.For more information, call 951-222-8100.

A one of kind collection

John Dingler will be exhibiting his unique hand-created digital artwork at the Riverside Art Museum April 2-May 30.Dingler is featuring pieces from his Odd Shaped Canvases collection and will hold his opening reception on April 25 from 6-9 p.m.For more information, call 951-684-7111.

UJIMA uses electronics to go green

It’s movie time!

The Seventh Annual Riverside International Film Festival returns to the Regal Cinemas in the Riverside Plaza April 17-26.The festival will screen films from over 30 countries and is scheduled to feature appearances from more than 50 actors and filmmakers.The opening night gala is April 17 and will honor actor William Devane with the Lifetime Achievement Award RIFF ’09.Devane is the star of several television shows including “Knots Landing” and “24.”For more information, visit the festival’s Web site at http://www.riversidefilmfest.org.
