Relief was on the faces of over 500 families as they accepted a packaged Thanksgiving dinner donated through the annual Giving Back event within the Riverside community. This is the fifth year Giving Back has occurred, and it took place on Nov. 15 at Bobby Bonds Park at the Cesar Chavez Community Center.

Charlie Weis’ future not so unsure After Notre Dame lost to USC 38-3 it seems all the commentators can talk about is the future of Notre Dame football head coach Charlie Weis. The loss to USC left the Fighting Irish at 6-6 for the season and marked a second mediocre season for Weis, who is in his fourth year.
The United Way of the Inland Empire is a non-profit organization that has taken sentiments of giving-back to heart. The group has coordinated its efforts with other local charitable organizations in order to engage a caring community in response to the needs of the population.

Lights, camera, auction. An exchange of verses and dollar signs crept from the back of downtown Riverside’s Coffee Depot as Operation SafeHouse, a local shelter for runaways, homeless and unwanted youth, held its first Poetry Jam and Music Fest complete with a silent auction to raise money and awareness for their organization.

After reading – and loving – the comic “Nothing Nice to Say,” I decided to try and get inside the mind of it’s creator, Mitch Clem, but in a non “Being John Malkovich” kind of way.
