Plan proves to be a success

The widening gap between Hispanic and African American students versus White and Asians at Riverside City College has received help from the Student Equity Plan. The plan was created to address the needs of the continuing disparity among ethnic groups according to an executive evaluation issued to the Riverside Community College District.

You don’t want to cross these mothers

With the driver’s side caved in, windows shattered and shards of metal twisting out in each direction, Ryan Smith’s Acura Integra was unrecognizable. Smith, 20, was hit broadside while driving his Acura Integra. The driver, of the other car, was driving at high speeds after spending his evening, drinking, at an Applebee’s in Palm Dessert.

Forty years ago, a man was murdered for his dream. It was a dream of equality for all people – a dream of unity and peace. On April 4, 1968, Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated because of his dream. He was never able to see the fruits of his labor. Still, had King lived to see this day, he would have yet to see his vision realized.

An editor’s glimpse of Israel

On my way to Israel, I thought that the horrors I had seen in Poland and at the sites of the Holocaust would be left behind me. I was wrong – at least at first. My roommate for the first part of the mission was a girl from Pittsburgh, who happens to be a practicing Muslim of Iranian decent.
