It was a close game on Oct. 29 between the Riverside City College men’s water polo team and Fullerton College. The Tigers took an early lead just one minute into the game, but Fullerton came right back less than a minute later after a time out.

The first quarter continued with RCC pulling ahead by one goal just to have the Hornets tie the game back up. RCC would later pull ahead again and the Hornets would reel them right back in.

This continued throughout the first half, until with less than three minutes left in the third quarter, Fullerton put the ball in the net to make it 8-7. The Hornets led the game for only a short period of time because less than three minutes into the fourth quarter, RCC’s Blake Cornwell put the tigers eleventh goal in the net which ended Fullerton’s lead for good.

Fullerton managed to put another goal in the cage to tie the game up one more time.

With one minute seven seconds left on the clock, Srdan Millic scored RCC’s twelfth and final goal to put RCC up by one. This was Millic’s eighth goal of the game.

This game made the Tigers’ overall record 18-10 and league record 3-2.

Later that weekend the Tigers went to conference finals where they put a 21-7 beating on Saddleback, but then lost to Orange Coast 8-10.

They redeemed themselves by squashing Fullerton 17-11 to take third in the tournament.

Placing third in the Orange Empire Conference qualified RCC for the Southern California regional tournament where they are seeded fifth. Their first match puts them up against Orange Coast College for the third time this season.

Both matches against Orange Coast has resulted in losses for RCC.
