An apology from Riverside City College interim president Wolde-Ab Isaac was sent one day after an email sent to former students of the campus. The apology email sent out by Isaac Feb. 19.

The original email sent out to the college’s alumni was a Letter of Admission email that included their student email and identification number.

While some of the alumni that received the email took to social media to share their respective thoughts and feelings on the matter, others called the college to inform them of the situation.

Isaac asked those who received the email to disregard the notification if they did not apply to take classes at RCC in 2015. He also stated that if a student did apply for admission in 2015 to continue the process and assured that the email is valid.

Isaac also verified that “the e-mail was not connected to a data breach of any kind nor were student records released to any outside parties.”

The college also confirmed there were not any fraudulent applications generated.
